How security guard foiled armed robbery at forex bureau in Nakawa

A security guard attached to Cheetah Security Group has foiled an armed robbery at his guard point, Tonix Forex Bureau, located in Makonzi zone, Bukoto I Parish, in Nakawa Division. The incident occurred last Friday at around 1 am.

The security guard, identified as Odongo Moses, reportedly fired two shots at two thugs who were vandalizing a Pajero motor vehicle registered under number UBK 519C, parked within his deployment area. The two thugs fled the scene on their getaway motorcycle.

However, a few minutes later, they returned with another accomplice armed with an AK-47 rifle concealed in a bag, attempting to break into Tonix Forex Bureau.

The guard opened fire at them, injuring the rider and the second suspect carrying the bag containing the gun. The third suspect fled from the scene.

Police responded and recovered an AK-47 rifle with eight rounds, along with breaking implements and the motorcycle, a Bajaj Boxer, all exhibited at Kira Road CPS.

The two suspects have been identified as Kibuuka Lawrence of Mpererwe, who was armed with a gun, and Musekule Ivan, the boda boda rider.

“The security guard did a commendable job by disabling the thugs, which foiled the robbery and also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle,” said the police.
