Security guard shot dead at forex bureau in Rubaga; assailants arrested

Police have arrested three assailants who allegedly shot dead a security guard, Agama Peter, aged 36, attached to Wolves Security Group. The incident happened last evening in Kabusu, Rubaga Division.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, the three assailants, who were moving on motorcycles and armed with a rifle, shot the security guard who was on duty at Banxele Forex Bureau Kabuusu branch before taking his firearm.

Owoyesigyire further explained that eyewitnesses alerted the police, who immediately pursued them.

“A pursuit of the suspects ensued, culminating in their apprehension in the Kawaala zone at Premier Betting. We can confirm that Sebuma Hussein, also known as Obote, Dumba David, and Abdullah Jumah, have been taken into custody,” Owoyesigyire said.

The police recovered two firearms: one belonging to the deceased security guard, which had 13 rounds, and another belonging to the assailants, which had 10 rounds.

“The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing. The deceased, Mr. Agama Peter, bore three gunshot wounds, and evidence recovered from the crime scene will be meticulously examined as part of the investigative process,” he said.
