Man kills brother over Shs 5,000 debt, hands himself over to Police

A 34-year-old man, Phinehas Kisanjya, has been arrested in Kasese district for allegedly murdering his brother, Zephanus Kisanjya, over a debt of Shs5,000.

According to police, the brothers got into a fight at a bar in Kathoma trading centre, which escalated into a fatal stabbing.

Phinehas allegedly stabbed Zephanus in the neck and stomach, accusing him of failing to pay him back the money.

After committing the crime, Phinehas surprisingly reported to the area defense secretary before surrendering himself to the police.

The incident was confirmed by Luke Mbusa, the acting police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region. He said that the suspect is in their custody and will be arraigned before the court for face murder charges.
