Police are investigating the circumstances under which a mother of three, Joyce Nankabirwa, dumped her newborn baby in a toilet in Katikolo Village, Mukono District. The incident occurred on September 10 at around 2 a.m.

According to Nankabirwa’s aunt, Annet Bukirwa, Nankabirwa told her in the morning that she had dropped a bucket in the toilet after experiencing complications during the night.

She called one of the relatives, who escorted her to the toilet. Using a torch, they discovered that a baby had been dumped inside the toilet.
