National Unity Platform (NUP) party President Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, has announced arrangements for the send-off of the late Kawempe North Member of Parliament (MP) Muhammad Ssegirinya.

The proceedings will begin today with a vigil at 4 PM at the NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule.

Ssegirinya will be honored in Parliament on Friday, followed by prayers at Mbogo Mosque in Kawempe.

According to Bobi Wine, although Ssegirinya was a devoted Muslim, his family has requested a delay in the burial to accommodate family members flying in from abroad on Saturday. As a result, he will not be buried immediately, as per Muslim customs, but instead will be laid to rest on Sunday in Masaka.

Ssegirinya passed away today at Lubaga Hospital after battling various health complications. He had been bedridden since his release from prison two years ago.
