The National Unity Platform (NUP) has raised more than Shs600 million in cash contributions as part of its ambitious fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 General Elections.

According to the party’s fundraising secretary and Kiboga District Woman MP, Christine Nakimwero, the drive has also attracted pledges exceeding Shs1 billion.

NUP aims to raise a total of Shs9 billion to fund its election campaign, which party insiders say is intended to mount a serious challenge to President Museveni’s decades-long rule.

Nakimwero confirmed that contributions are still pouring in, with more supporters lining up daily to offer financial support to the cause.

The funds collected will be used to finance critical campaign materials such as T-shirts, posters, banners, and billboards. A substantial portion is also earmarked for media engagement—including radio and TV advertisements—to enhance nationwide visibility.

Grassroots mobilisation remains a key priority, with resources being channelled into outreach activities across the country.

As part of the preparations, NUP on Wednesday unveiled the official campaign poster for its presidential flagbearer, Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine. The event, held at the party headquarters in Makerere-Kavule, introduced the campaign slogan: “A New Uganda Now.”

Bobi Wine reiterated the party’s commitment to securing electoral victory and declared that this time, they are determined not only to win but to ensure the Electoral Commission announces the will of the people.
