President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG), succeeding Beti Olive Namisango Kamya, whose tenure ended in July 2025.

According to a statement from State House, the President exercised his constitutional mandate to appoint Justice Batala, while retaining Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe as Deputy IGGs. The appointees’ names have been forwarded to Parliament for vetting.

The Inspectorate of Government serves as Uganda’s lead anti-corruption body, tasked with investigating abuse of office, enforcing the Leadership Code Act, and promoting transparency in public institutions.
