Police in Kampala have launched investigations into a suspected robbery that left two people dead at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi Zone, Lungujja Parish.

The victims are the hotel’s manager, 30-year-old Asasira Shivani, and a security guard, Musinguzi Lawrence, aged about 27. Their bodies were discovered on Friday, 07 February 2026, in separate rooms within the hotel.

According to police, the incident first raised concern earlier in the day when the hotel owner received a call from the manager at around 10:00 a.m. She reported that she could not trace the security guard and that his mobile phones were switched off. About an hour and a half later, the owner tried to return the call, but the manager’s phone was also unreachable.

The owner later decided to personally check on the situation and arrived at the hotel at about 3:00 p.m. It was then that he found both employees dead. Preliminary examinations indicate that the two had sustained stab wounds.

Police further revealed that a white Toyota Harrier, registration number UBH 633M, belonging to the hotel, was missing from the premises and is suspected to have been taken by the attackers.

The bodies were taken to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachel Kawala confirmed the incident and said detectives are actively pursuing leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and to identify those responsible.

Police have appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to report to the nearest police station.
