Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Patrick Amuriat Oboi has told National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, to come out of hiding and provide leadership to his supporters.

Speaking in an interview on NTV, Amuriat said this is a critical time when the NUP president is needed to offer direction to his supporters.

“Stop the hide and seek, come out and provide leadership to your people,” Amuriat said.

He added, “If I were the one, I would be on the ground telling foot soldiers to act and push to take back their country.”

Amuriat said the followers of Bobi Wine are currently leaderless.

“Many of them are frightened and might also go into hiding. This is not good for the struggle, especially for those who came out openly and supported Bobi Wine during the elections,” he said.

It has been one month since Bobi Wine left his home after the general elections. Speaking at the Geneva Human Rights Conference on Wednesday, Bobi Wine said his home in Magere remains heavily guarded by security forces, even though no one lives there anymore.

The Electoral Commission declared Yoweri Museveni the winner of the 2026 presidential election with 71.6 per cent of the vote, while Bobi Wine came second with 24.7 per cent.
