Woman arrested for burning 10-year-old boy using polythene bag for allegedly stealing Shs100k

Police in Nateete have arrested a 34-year-old woman accused of torturing a 10-year-old boy in Kanaala Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Bunamwaya Division, Wakiso District.

The suspect, identified as Nankunda Esther, had been left in charge of the child by her brother. The boy is a Primary Four pupil.

According to preliminary police findings, the incident happened on Eid Day, 20 March 2026, at around 5:00 pm. Nankunda allegedly punished the child by burning his hands with a heated white polythene bag, accusing him of stealing Shs100,000.

The boy was later rescued and taken for medical examination.

Police say the suspect is currently in custody and will be taken to court once investigations are complete.
