Ten months after they were found dead in Entebbe, David and Deborah Mutaaga have been laid to rest in Switzerland.
The couple was discovered killed at their home in Lugonjo, Nakiwogo on 6 July 2025. Police called it a violent and still unsolved double homicide.
A Shs60 million reward was offered for information, but no suspects have been convicted yet.
After their deaths, the bodies were first taken to KCCA mortuary, then moved to A-Plus Funeral Home in Mengo. What followed was a long family dispute over burial rights – tradition vs the law.
The case went to Kampala High Court. The judge ruled in favor of the couple’s biological son, Mark Mutaaga Kabenge.
The court allowed A-Plus Funeral Home to cremate the bodies and send the remains to Switzerland for burial, as per his wishes.
With the legal battle settled, David and Deborah Mutaaga were finally cremated in Kampala and repatriated. Their remains were buried in Switzerland over the weekend, closing a painful chapter for the family.
Police say investigations into the murders remain open.
