Sanyuka TV producer Badru Kasirye has died in a road accident along Entebbe Road that left entertainment presenter Brian Macona critically injured.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Friday in Namulanda, Wakiso District, as the three occupants were reportedly travelling back from a celebrity boxing match between Chicken Chicken and Shawa.
Badru, who also worked as a trade marketing officer at Sanyuka TV, died at the scene. Another Sanyuka TV staff, Isaac Ndamagye, also died in the crash.
Macona survived but sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Kisubi Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition was reported to be critical by Friday morning.
According to the police, the crash occurred at about 2:00 a.m. in Namulanda, near Stabex along Entebbe Road. It involved motor vehicles UA 779DE, a Toyota Allex, and UAS 976W, a Toyota Hilux.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Toyota Hilux, registration number UAS 976W, which was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala, allegedly lost control and drifted into the opposite lane while approaching the Stabex area in Namulanda.

The vehicle subsequently collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Allex, registration number UA 779DE.
As a result of the collision, Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye died at the scene, while Brian Makona sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
