Mozambican who attempted to fast for 40 days in imitation of Jesus Christ has died.
The founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church, Francisco Barajah, passed away in a hospital in the city of Beira after being transported there in critical condition.
He had been taken to hospital at the insistence of relatives and followers.
The 39-year-old had lost so much weight that he was unable to stand up after 25 days of going without food or water.
According to reports, it was common for the pastor and his followers to fast, but not for that long.
