The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II is one of the dignitaries that sent condolence messages to singer Bobi Wine and his family when they lost their dad Mzee Jackson Willington Ssentamu last Tuesday.

The Kabaka is his message thanked the late Ssentamu for educating his family of close to 40 children. He also thanked the Mzee who passed away at 80 for allowing his children to pursue their singing talent that earned them nationwide wide fame as many other parents stifle the talents of their children because they want them to concentrate on only academics.  Bobi Wine, Eddy Yawe of Afrigo Band, Mickie Wine and Banjo Man are all musicians.

But what was of much interest to singer Bobi Wine in the letter was the Kabaka endorsing him as Omubanda Wa Kabaka (the King’s gangster). Bobi Wine who always adds more titles to himself is a self-styled Ghetto President, Ghetto Gladiator and Omubanda Wa Kabaka, a title that the Buganda king has now as good as officially bestowed upon him.

Bobi Wine is a Kabaka loyalist and he even has a song dedicated to the Kabaka titled Nyibira Kabaka Wange ( I’m singing for my King) on top of a tattoo of the Buganda kingdom emblem on his arm.

Check out the Kabaka’s letter to the Ssentamu family.
