In the same tournament, he managed to become the all time World Cup top scorer with 16 goals and also owns Germany’s record goal scorer with 71 goals.

The 38-year-old German also won two Bundesliga titles with Bayern. Last year, Klose was playing his club football at Lazio in Italy but his contract expired at the end of the season becoming a free agent. Since then, the German striker has played for any club until his official retirement announcement from football. At club level, Klose scored 213 goals in 529 appearances.

According to the BBC, Klose has plans of joining the Germany coaching staff after an invitation from the former manager Joachim Low. Klose is yet to finalise with his pro coaching license to suit FIFA rules.
