Double Commonwealth Games gold medalist Joshua Cheptegi is still a Police Officer, Assistant Inspector General of Police Asan Kasingye revealed today at Entebbe International Airport as the country waits to welcome the 69-man contingent.

After Police Force congratulated Joshua Cheptegi in a tweet, describing him as ‘their own officer, the athlete quickly replied stating that is ‘no longer in the force’.

However, Asan claims Joshua Cheptegei is still a member of the force. Furthermore, Asan stated that the force has already prepared a bounty of rewards to the successful members of the force in sports including Joshua.

The team landed today evening as they were received by First Lady Janet Museveni. The team will meet President Museveni on Sunday for what has been described as a moment of “huge handshake”.
