Toppers of the maiden Guinness Rugby Series, Black Pirates will this weekend plot to resist any further slowdown as they play host to the fifth round of the sevens series at Legends Rugby Club.

Stallion player in yellow and black hands off Pirates’ Richard Odokere during their game during the Guinness 7s. Pirateswon 14-12.

Pirates kicked off the series with two winning runs but their last outings have seen them lose the final and get knocked out in the semis in Mbarara last weekend.

With their win in Mbarara, Betway Kobs managed to keep pace with Pirates at the summit. Pirates lead with 78 points, while Kobs are on 71 points. For the rest it appears to be a damage limitation exercise, with nearly 20 points to make up on the leaders.
