Uganda Cranes is out of AFCON 2019 but the juicy deals being sealed indicate that the team’s performance captivated scouts in Egypt.

A day before former Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre officially made a big money move to Egyptian giants Pyramids F.C, Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho and his agent Geoffrey Solo Kayemba were sealing a transfer from India’s Churchill Brothers FC to Egyptian Premier League side Misr Lel Makkasa Sporting Club.

Aucho, who has been a dynamo in the Cranes midfield at the ongoing AFCON signed a two-year deal worth $600,000 (Shs2.2billion). The left footed midfielder will be earning Shs92 million per month for two years.

Khalid Aucho and his agent Geoffrey Kayemba after signing the deal.

The 26-year-old midfielder played for three Ugandan clubs Jinja Municipal, Water and Simba FC before crossing over to Kenya where he played for Tusker FC and Gor Mahia.

In 2016, Aucho made a transfer to South Africa’s Baroka FC where his football career hit rock bottom as he never got playing time to prove himself. After only one season, the club announced that they had parted ways with him and former Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa.

Aucho spent a few months as a free agent before crossing to Serbia. He signed with Red Star Belgrade but the club immediately loaned him to OFK Beograd. India’s club Churchill Brothers has been his home coming to 2019 AFCON.

We wish Khalid Aucho all the best at his new club.
