Uganda Cranes player Saidi Kyeyune completes move to Sudanese giants El Merrikh

Uganda Cranes midfielder Saidi Kyeyune has earned from his standout performance at the on-going African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco as he has completed a move from Uganda Revenue Authority to Sudanese giants El Merrikh SC. The deal was confirmed by the club on Sunday.

Kyeyune who scored two goals at 2021 CHAN in Morocco with one against Togo tipped to be awarded Goal of the Tournament is said to have signed a one year contract with El Merrikh.  Reports indicate URA FC have earned money in the region of $40,000 (about Shs147 million) from the deal.

Kyeyune started his career at Maroons FC before moving to URA FC in 2011. He has been the longest-serving player at the time of his departure and he was outstanding last season as he scored eight goals in the UPL.

He now joins a growing list of Ugandan players who have traded their football in Sudan. Others include; Salim Jamal Magoola (currently at Al Hilal), Mike Mutyaba played for Al Merrikh and Hamis ‘Diego’ Kizza featured for El Hilal Obeid.
