This year’s Lady Captain’s Prize Golf Tournament came to a spectacular ending with Michael Muhangi and Hon. Caroline Kamusiime emerging as overall male and females winners respectively, in the competition that was played at the Uganda Golf Club’s (UGC) par-72 course in Kitante.

The Tusker Malt sponsored event was a one-day tourney that saw Kamusiime scoring 41 points and Muhangi 48.

“As Tusker Malt, we are committed to promoting the game of golf. Ours is a progressive brand that promotes inclusion. The night climaxed with an exciting 19th Hole prize giving dinner where outgoing Lady captain Anne Abeja officially introduced incoming Lady Captain Grace Kabonero.

“This year’s theme; Choose To Challenge, generated a lot of excitement. We would like for more and more women to come out and celebrate each other, get involved as well as support each other,” said Abeja, the outgoing Lady Captain said of the tournament that is held every March to celebrate women.

The annual Lady Captain’s Prize tournament was not held last year owing to the lockdown that was instituted to curb the spread of Covid-19. This year’s tournament, marking the 30th edition was held in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures set by government to stop the spread of the pandemic.

The night came to an end with overall winners Muhangi and Kamusiime  each winning an air ticket to any choice of their destination with Uganda Airlines, a Sayona fridge, a weekend stay for two at Kigambira Safari Lodge plus a trophy.

Several subsidiary winners took home trophies, gift hampers from sponsors and electric appliances from Sayona.
