Uganda’s first female boxer at the Olympics Catherine Nanziri has lost her fight this morning to Japan’s Tsukimi Namiki by unanimous decision (5-0) in the Women’s Flyweight, round of 32 at the Kokugikan Arena.

The 21-year old scores; (30-27) (30-27) (30-26) (30-27) (30-27)-All in favour of Tsukimi.

Nanziri put up a sprited fight but she lost because her punches could not land well on the opponent. Uganda still has more two boxers at the on-going Olympics and hopes for better fortunes when David Ssemujju steps in the ring on Monday while Shadir Musa Bwogi, the captain of the boxing team received a bye to round of 16.
