After a week-long competition in various games at the on-going Olympics games in Tokyo, Japan, China lead the medal table with 19 gold medals so far, putting them two clear of second-placed hosts Japan.

The United States, meanwhile, trail Japan by three golds. The Russian Olympic Committee are fourth in the standings with 10 golds – one clear of Australia and four ahead of Great Britain.

Uganda is placed 47th on the medal table following the double medals scooped by Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo yesterday in the Men’s 10,000m race. The duo won silver and bronze respectively.
