Uganda’s Jennifer Nyakato wins silver in the 800m at World Deaf Athletics Championships

Uganda’s Jennifer Nyakato has won Silver in the women’s 800m Final of the 4th World Deaf Athletics Championships in Lublin , Poland.
The former Makerere University student came second after posting a time of 2.10.26.

Nyakato has been at the podium before though on continental level as she became Uganda’s first Africa Deaf Athletics Championships champion when she won the 800m gold.

At the on going World Deaf Athletics Championships, she missed a medal by 2.06 secs as she finished 4th in the 1500m finals.

The World Deaf Athletics Championships is a quadrennial global competitions in the sport of athletics for deaf people. It is organised by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf and was first held in 2008.
