U-20 Women’s CECAFA: Five Eritrean players disappear in Jinja

Police are hunting for five Eritrean players who have disappeared from a hotel in Jinja where their team was camped as they participate in the ongoing CECAFA U-20 Women’s championship.

According to the statement released by CECAFA, the association confirmed that the players disappeared today morning and the case has already been reported to Jinja police.

Sources reveal that the missing players could be planning to seek asylum, which some Eritrean sports players have done in the past.
