The Gulu Catholic Archdiocese has offered eight acres of land to the Agago District Local government for the construction of the proposed Lt Gen Paul Lokech Memorial Stadium.

The stadium will be constructed at Ajali Anyena Primary School, a Catholic founded school in Agago Town Council, Agago district.

This is in honor of the former Deputy Inspector General of Police (D/IGP), who passed away in August last year due to a blood clot at the age of 55.

According to Baptist Olanya, the Chairperson Ajali Anyena School Management Committee, the district has been already given Shs20m to start clearing the area for the stadium, drawing a master plan and goal post for the stadium among others.

He said the stadium will greatly help in improving the talents of children in the district and beyond.

The district officials say that the stadium will be constructed in phases. Though no estimated amount has been agreed upon, the stadium is planned to have a parking yard for 100 vehicles, a running track, a football pitch, a netball court, a basketball court, a swimming pool, and a volleyball court, among others.
