22 fighters from across Africa ready for MMA fights at Serena this weekend

1Zone MMA will hold its first live Mixed Martial Arts event this Saturday at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

This event will mark the end of Season Two of the 1Zone MMA fights after a successful Season One of the fights streamed live online in April 2022.

The event will feature 11 fights and 22 fighters from seven countries; Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda.

1Zone MMA is the 1st Mixed Martial Arts Platform in East Africa, operating out of Uganda with a goal to promote MMA fighters in the region and get them global recognition by providing a professional platform for the fighters to showcase their diverse and unique MMA fighting skills.

The live Mixed Martial Arts fight is organized by 1Zone MMA in partnership with NBS Sport, Kampala Serena Hotel, Talent Africa, and FITE TV.

Regional banking subsidiaries registered a 53% growth in profit after tax to Kshs. 36.3 billion, driven by strong performance across key markets including DRC, Uganda, and Tanzania, alongside robust loan expansion of 17% in DRC, 22% in Rwanda, and 61% in Tanzania. Diversification efforts were reinforced by strong momentum in insurance, with gross written premiums rising 75% and profit before tax increasing 36%. The Group also delivered significant social impact, investing approximately Kshs. 99.5 billion in sustainability initiatives, underscoring its continued evolution into a diversified, technology-driven pan-African financial services group.
