Paris Olympics: Uganda’s schedule and how to watch

As the 2024 Paris Olympics approach, Uganda’s finest athletes are ready to showcase their exceptional talent on the global stage. A total of 25 athletes will represent the country in four disciplines: athletics, rowing, swimming, and cycling. The tournament kicks off on Friday, July 26th.

Kathleen Noble, will be the first Ugandan in action as she will compete in rowing, from July 27 to August 3.

Swimmer Gloria Muzito, who won a bronze medal at the 2023 African Games, will take to the pool on Tuesday, July 30, in the 100m freestyle event, with the finals scheduled for the following day. Joining Muzito is Jesse Ssengonzi, who will compete in the 100m Butterfly event from Friday, August 2, to Saturday, August 3. Cyclist Charles Kagimu will also be in action on August 3rd.

The athletics program, the highlight of the Olympic Games, commences on August 2 with the women’s 800m Round 1 and the men’s 10,000m final. Other races will take place until the tournament’s conclusion on August 11.

Top athletes like Joshua Cheptegei, Peruth Chemutai, and Jacob Kiplimo are aiming for medals, while others like Oscar Chelimo, Martin Magengo Kiprotich, and Winne Nanyondo hope to clinch their maiden Olympic medals.

Ugandan fans eagerly anticipate the performances of their nation’s track and field stars, who have consistently excelled on the global stage.

The games will be live on DSTV sports channels.
