Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana will be coming to Uganda. The shot-stopper is not coming for a visit but rather to play football.

Onana will come with the Cameroon team, which will be hosted by Zimbabwe at Namboole Stadium on September 10 in a Group J match of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

However, Zimbabwe will first play Kenya in their opening AFCON qualifier at the same venue four days before the match against Cameroon. Both Zimbabwe and Kenya have no approved stadiums in their respective countries, so they requested Namboole management to allow them to host their ‘home’ games at Namboole for a fee.

Local reports in Zimbabwe indicate that the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) considered renting a stadium in South Africa since they have strong support in SA due to a large Zimbabwean diaspora in the region.

However, for ZIFA, it makes more logistical sense for the team to stay in Uganda after their match against Kenya.

Zimbabwe has already announced the ticket prices for their game against Cameroon. Ordinary tickets are set at Shs 15,000, VIP at 50,000, and VVIP at 100,000.
