The Uganda Cranes return to action this evening at 7pm, aiming for a vital victory in their second match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers campaign.

After earning a hard-fought point in their opening game against South Africa, the Cranes are looking to build momentum on home soil.

In their previous outing, the Cranes showed resilience, coming from behind to lead 2-1 in the second half, only for South Africa to level in the 95th minute.

Captain Khalid Aucho is optimistic the team can replicate their strong second-half performance to secure a win against Congo Brazzaville at the Namboole Stadium.

Congo Brazzaville comes into the match with a narrow 1-0 victory over South Sudan in their first game, but history is not on their side when visiting Namboole.

The visitors have conceded eight goals in their last three trips to the stadium, managing to score just once, and Uganda will look to exploit this poor record.

Coach Paul Put believes that the point secured in South Africa, combined with the home crowd’s passionate support at Namboole, will provide the perfect boost for his team.

With all eyes on the Cranes, the expectations are high for them to claim all three points and maintain their quest for AFCON qualification.
