Renowned two-time national rally champion, Super Lady Susan Muwonge, lost her five-year-old daughter, Thecla Mary Nalwanga, who died over the weekend following a fatal accident during a motorcycle training session.

The incident occurred at the Garuga racing track along Entebbe Road, where young riders were preparing for the upcoming sixth round of the National Motorcycle Championship scheduled for Sunday, 27th July 2025.

Nalwanga, who was competing in the juniors’ category, collided with another child during a training drill. Both children fell to the ground.

Reports indicate that while the two children were down, a senior-category rider — unaware of the collision ahead — was mid-air on a jump when his motorcycle landed directly on Nalwanga, striking her head. She was rushed to Kisubi Hospital with critical injuries but succumbed to them shortly after.

Nalwanga was laid to rest on Sunday at Kasenge, Nkungulutale, along Nakawuka Road.

Fans, fellow riders, and rally enthusiasts across the country have expressed their heartbreak over the loss of a young girl whom many had already seen as a rising star in the sport.
