The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of CHAN 2024 has confirmed that the government has purchased 28,000 tickets to give Ugandan football fans free entry to the third-place playoff between Sudan and Senegal, scheduled for today, August 29, 2025, at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

This gesture, announced during a press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre, is a “thank you” to Ugandan fans who have passionately supported the tournament.

“This is the way the LOC, under the leadership of Maama Janet Museveni, is saying ‘thank you’ to all football fans who have made our homeland proud during this co-hosting of CHAN 2024,” the LOC communication team said.

How to Get Your Free Ticket

Fans can access their tickets in three simple steps:

1. Go Online

Visit CAF’s official ticketing website (the same platform used for all previous CHAN games).

2. Register

Enter your personal details to create or log into your account.

3. Redeem with Promo Code

Instead of making a payment, enter the special promo code: CHAN3RD

Each fan can claim up to three tickets.

Important Guidelines

All tickets will carry CAF’s official security features and be stamped “NOT FOR SALE”.

The LOC has strongly warned fans not to buy tickets from unauthorised sellers or third-party vendors.

Fans who had already bought tickets before this announcement will be contacted directly by CAF for appropriate arrangements so that no supporter loses out.

CHAN 2024 has been historic, co-hosted across three East African nations:

Tanzania hosted the opening match,

Uganda is hosting the third-place playoff,

Kenya will host the grand finale at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

With 28,000 free tickets up for grabs, Ugandan fans now have the chance to pack Namboole and give CHAN 2024 the electrifying send-off it deserves.
