Uganda’s fast-rising midfield talent Allan Oyirwoth is attracting serious attention from some of Europe’s biggest football clubs, according to confirmed reports out of the United States.

The Blazing Musket, a respected New England–based sports outlet, reports that the 18-year-old New England Revolution midfielder has already drawn interest from English Premier League giants Chelsea, alongside La Liga’s Atlético Madrid and Scottish champions Celtic.

Former New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter has also confirmed the growing buzz:
“He’s got some interest overseas from top clubs. He’s already on their radar.”

Oyirwoth’s rise has been swift. A graduate of Amus College School in Uganda, he signed his first senior contract with the Revolution ahead of the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. Before that, he made a name for himself with Revolution II, where he logged 1,052 minutes across 12 starts, posted an 88% pass completion rate—the best on the team—and scored a spectacular one-time, left-footed strike from outside the box on April 26.

He made his MLS debut on 9 August against Chicago Fire and quickly earned back-to-back starts against Toronto FC and Philadelphia Union. In the Union game, he stood out with three successful tackles, six defensive contributions, and a created chance, underlining his versatility and maturity in midfield.

Interest from Europe is not entirely new for Oyirwoth. Before moving to the United States, he came close to signing with Spain’s Cádiz CF. Now, with his performances in MLS turning heads, reports suggest that several European scouts have been closely tracking him since August.

If a move materialises, Oyirwoth could become the latest Ugandan to make the leap to top-flight European football—an achievement that would cement his status as one of the country’s brightest young prospects.
