The newly completed Hoima City Stadium has received a perfect 5-star rating, confirming that it fully meets the standards set by both the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The rating follows an independent site assessment conducted on 5 November 2025, which evaluated the facility’s design, pitch quality, and overall readiness to host top-tier football competitions.

According to the Minister of State for Sports, Peter Ogwang, the stadium’s pitch achieved an impressive 115 out of 115 points, a flawless score that reflects outstanding performance across all assessment parameters.

“This is a proud moment for Uganda. The stadium’s perfect rating demonstrates our commitment to international sports standards,” Ogwang said.

With this rating, Hoima City Stadium now ranks among the best football venues in the region, positioning Uganda to host major international matches and continental tournaments.

The milestone comes shortly after the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) confirmed that construction had been fully completed and that the facility was awaiting final certification from FIFA and CAF before being officially handed over to the government.

The modern stadium is expected to play a vital role in advancing Uganda’s sports infrastructure, providing a world-class platform for both local and international competitions, and boosting Hoima’s status as a growing sports and tourism hub in western Uganda.
