Uganda’s She Cranes have been crowned Celtic Cup champions after completing the tournament with a flawless record—five wins in five matches.

Their final triumph came on Sunday at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, where they defeated Wales 70–48 in a commanding performance that confirmed their dominance in the round-robin competition. The title was awarded to the team with the most wins and the strongest goal return, and Uganda topped both categories with ease.

The She Cranes had to shake off an early challenge, trailing briefly before regrouping to take a narrow 17–15 lead at the end of the first period. From there, Uganda shifted into a higher gear. A series of sharp interceptions and tighter defensive organisation disrupted Wales’ rhythm, allowing the She Cranes to stretch the advantage to 12 goals by halftime.

Uganda maintained the pressure after the break, pushing the lead to 54–39 in the third period and leaving Wales with no way back. The final quarter saw Uganda finish in style, closing out the match with a 22-goal margin.

The defensive pairing of Aya Gloria and Faridah Kadondi was exceptional throughout, breaking down Wales’ attacks and allowing Uganda’s midfield to control the tempo. Their work created the platform for a confident attacking display.

At the final whistle, shooter Mary Nuba was named Player of the Match, while Shadia Nassanga earned the honour of Player of the Tournament—fitting recognitions for Uganda’s standout performers in a flawless championship run.
