The Electoral Commission has stated that the Kyadondo East by-election results will be out tonight by 10pm, if all goes according to set plans. Voting started as early as 7am and will be closed at 4pm to allow vote tallying across the 93 polling stations.

The race for the Kyadondo East by-election has attracted massive media attention thanks to the three bigwigs in the five man race; NRM’s Sitenda Sebalu, FDC’s Apollo Kantinti and singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who is running on independent ticket.

After casting his vote, NRM’s Sitenda Sebalu stated that he was confident of winning the election with a big majority and sarcastically stated that he had already invited opponent Bobi Wine to entertain his voters.

On the other hand, in an exclusive interview, Bobi Wine too stated that he was very confident of taking the day. FDC’s Apollo Kantinti is also another big figure in the area thanks to the backing of opposition figure Dr. Kizza Besigye.
