Has ‘Chameleone’ joined the NRM ‘Silent Majority’ that Bebe Cool loves to talk about?

HUgandan Music legend Jose Chameleone continues to live by his name which suggests he is ever alternating colours like the tiny animal the name is borrowed from. While Chameloene has over the last year seemed to be inclined towards Bobi Wine’s People Power movement, over the weekend the singer made a rather confusing twist as he took a photo that seemed to suggest he is linked to the NRM ‘quiet’ fanbase that Bebe Cool recently refered to as ‘Silent Majority.’

Posing with Bebe Cool’s eldest son Allan Hendrik Ssali, Chameleone showed himself donning a cap that bares Bebe Cool’s NRM-linked merchandise tagline of ‘Silent Majority’, and the ‘Keep Quiet’ gesture that he pulled off in the picture (putting his index finger to his mouth) also seemed to be directed at those who might have any problems with his donning the ‘Silent Majority’ cap.

It might be remembered that Chameleone’s political affiliation has been an unclear subject for some time now, with the singer seeming to oscillate between the ruling party of NRM and the opposition block.

In the 2016 general election the singer was among the many popular local artistes (including Bebe Cool, Radio & Weasel, King Saha among others) who moved across the country canvassing support for President Museveni.

Then last year in December during his Saba Saba concert, Chameleone made his love for People Power known as he invited the slogan ringleader Bobi Wine on stage. On the same event, Chameleone embarrassed Government Chief Whip Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa by grabbing a microphone from her on stage while she was still addressing the crowd.

Later on, while appearing on a Television interview, the singer revealed that he will only support a party that will contribute towards the establishment of his desired radio station. With Chameleone now donning the Silent Majority cap, we are yet to establish whether the singer’s radio station has been cleared.
