Ssembabule District Police is holding a 45-year-old of Kawanda sub-county for attempting to burn President Museveni’s cattle ranch in Gomba district.

The man yet to be identified was reported by a 9-year-old, Amos Sserwadda after he saw him holding a matchbox.

“I found him [suspect] with a matchbox while trying to set the farm on fire when he saw me, he called me and told me not to dare say anything and if I do it, he will harm me,” reads Serwadda’s police statement.

Sam Obicho, the Sembabule District CID says the police had no reason to dispute Sserwadda’s statement because as a young boy, he doesn’t have any personal grudge with the suspect.

“What the boy has told us cannot be taken lightly and as police, we are carrying out further investigations to establish what the real intention of this man was,” Obicho said.
