Afande Kirumira: Seven children from seven mistresses emerge, another three-months pregnant

Seven children have so far been introduced to the family of assassinated police officer, Kirumira Muhammad.

Two of the mistresses, including one working with Ministry of Defence presented children below two years to their grand fathers.

Mr. Kawooya Abubaker, the father of the late stated that though the children are not officially known to the family, he welcomes any other  woman who claims that to have sired children with the late. According to reports, another woman, who was three-months pregnant also claimed to be the late’s mistress. The source alleges that the she was welcomed and will be catered for and later the child assessed by the family.

At the moment, ssengas (aunties) in the family have taken central role in identifying the children’s paternity using traditional methods. It is not clear whether the family might consider carrying out DNA paternity tests.

Kirumira was a staunch Muslim, a faith that encourages polygamy. He was officially married to Mariam with whom they had four children. The last born, a seven months old boy was named after Andrew Felix Kaweesi, his comrade whose life was taken in a similar manner.

Mr. Kawooya Abubaker has appealed for government support stating that he does not have necessary resources to look after the children.

Kirumira, popularly known as ‘Mwoyo Wa Gwanga, meaning patriot, was gunned down on Saturday at Bulenga, off Mityana Road. He was killed alongside Resty Mbabazi, a mobile money agent in the area.
