In his congratulatory message to Harriet Mugenyi Busingye and Tubo Christine Nakwang for winning the Hoima and Kaabong woman Member of Parliament by-elections respectively, President Yoweri Museveni has said that even with the lies from the opposition, people know where the light is.

Museveni says the National Resistance Movement (NRM) structures are actively working and effectively impacting the lives of Ugandans.

“I congratulate the NRM structures in the two districts for doing a good job and delivering these victories. The NRM is stronger than ever and its vision is correct,” Museveni says.

He adds that, “You have chosen to consolidate the NRM achievements, by voting a pro-development MP.”

NRM’s Harriet Busingye won the highly contested Hoima by-election with 33,301 voted compared to 28,789 votes for Nyakato whereas Tubo Nakwang easily cruised past FDC’s Adyaka Judith Nalibe with 22,532 votes compared to 1,692 in Kaabong.
