Recently big government officials and aspiring candidates’ under National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket have been continuously accused of violating COVID-19 guidelines and presidential directives in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.

The public faulted security agencies for selectively enforcing the set guidelines. Today Police in Kween has arrested an aspirant for Member of Parliament under NRM ticket for flouting presidential directives and Ministry of Health guidelines.
Mr. Chemutai Wilfred Kireny was arrested at Binyiny Town Council while conducting unlawful procession. The suspect is currently detained at Kapchorwa Police Station as inquiries are ongoing. He will appear in court when inquiries are complete.

“All other aspirants are here by advised to follow the presidential directives and MOH SOPs,” said Police in a statement.
