Namaganda, Galilaya arcades register COVID-19 cases, no contacts are yet to be found

The Minister for Kampala, Betty Amongi, has announced two COVID-19 cases recorded in arcades in the Metropolitan Kampala. The two arcades that have registered positive COVID-19 cases are Namaganda and Galilaya respectively.

Minister Amongi, however, revealed that contact tracing remains a big hurdle as of the two new cases in arcades, no contact has been traced.

Yesterday the ministry of health ordered for the closure of three business premises that had registered positive cases. These include; Eagle Holdings (4 cases confirmed): linked to the 5th death (46-year-old /Female; Indian), Megha Industries (4 cases confirmed) and Toyota Uganda (3 cases confirmed).

The ministry yesterday confirmed two COVID-19 deaths bringing the total number of deaths to 11. 21 new cases were also registered from tests done on August 12. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Uganda stand at 1,353 while total recoveries stand at 1,141.
