The ruling National Resistance Movement presidential flag bearer President Yoweri Museveni yesterday started his campaigns in central (Buganda) region where he met and addressed a selected team of NRM leaders including party flag bearers from districts of Mubende, Kasanda, Kiboga, Mityana and Kyankwanzi districts.

While addressing the gathering, Museveni said politics is not for playing around as when you handle badly, you can plunge the country into problems.

“Those who want to play should find other things to play around with and not politics. Uganda had become ungovernable but when NRM came to power, we stopped the chaos,” Museveni said.

It’s from this point that he warned opposition groups who want violence to think twice because he’s ready to faceoff with them.

“You shouldn’t threaten anyone with violence. Those who dared in Kampala know what happened to them.

They tried to disrupt Kampala and the army came in. They thought it was going to be like other countries but the army gave them the medicine. I called Kampala to find out how the city was and I was told even if you abandon a yellow t-shirt, no one touches it because it is hot,” he said.

According to Museveni, Uganda was in turmoil because politicians were focusing on politics of religion, tribe and gender chauvinism. He said that the NRM has used wisdom to return peace and thrived Uganda’s economy.
