Mao says it’s going to be hard for opposition to win in the 2021 elections

Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate Norbert Mao has revealed that Ugandans look at opposition as mediocre because they already know that the upcoming 2021 general elections is not free and fair.

According to Mao, the opposition is not competing with incumbent President Yoweri Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party but rather competing with the State.

“That’s why you can see security personnel on ground prohibiting the opposition from campaigning,” Mao said.

The DP President however faults the opposition for failing to unite and front a formidable force. He said the opposition has to re-think so that they can be able to command a huge force in the coming polls.

Mao disclosed that up to now, he has been open for the grand coalition with outlined agenda to defeat the ruling NRM government but it seems there’s little interest amongst the opposition over the same. He asserted that with such circumstances, the opposition is likely to perform poorly in the January elections.
