Mengo chief magistrate Esther Nsambu has this afternoon dismissed with costs an application for the vote recount for Kampala Central constituency filed by Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu challenging the win of incumbent Muhammad Nsereko.

Nsereko has since been upheld by the same court as the elected Kampala Central MP after Nyanzi failed to provide evidence concerning malpractices and irregularities committed by both the Electoral Commission officials and incumbent Muhammad Nsereko’s agents.

Nyanzi was defeated by the independent candidate Nsereko who got 16,998 votes against Nyanzi’s 15,975.
