Another landslide disaster in Bududa

Fresh Landslide disaster has hit Bududa and affected many villages that include; Nakatore, Buweri, Bukuna, and Buwobe in Bunanzishi parish Bulucheke sub-county. The landslide happened last night at 10 pm.

According to the Uganda Red Cross Society, no life was lost, no injuries but destruction registered on plantations and property.

Red Cross is on the ground and set to distribute relief items to the affected families.

Bududa is one of the areas that are always at a risk of landslides. More than 400 landslides have happened in the Mount Elgon region over the years. These landslides have caused the death of hundreds of people and displaced thousands more.

Meanwhile also in Kisoro district, River Ruhezanyinda flooded due to heavy rains. Food crops such as Irish potatoes, Yams are destroyed, roads and footpaths are inaccessible.
