On January 24, the state finally opened the economy to full capacity allowing party animals to experience a fully operational nightlife for the first time in close to two years.

Many game players were excited about the reopening of the performing arts sector including Afro-soul musician Kenneth Mugabi and events manager, producer, and music director George Kagoda alias Bushingtone.

While speaking in an interview on Friday morning, the two game players shared their opinions and feelings on the reopening of the performing arts.

Mugabi, who is popularly known for his soothing ballads, said that he is excited that the live music is back and he is planning to stage a concert this year.

“I am excited that the lockdown and restrictions on the entertainment sector have been lifted. I intend to do a concert this year,” Mugabi revealed.

Bushingtone, also talked about the reopening of the performing arts sector saying: “I do not expect the entertainment sector to take off immediately. I think we will stabilize around the month of November. We have things to clear out, bills to pay yet we have not been earning.”

He went ahead and also explained that lockdown was a blessing to some musicians to rise.

“The digital space, during lockdown, gave a chance to certain genres to rise. Before this, we relied on the streets, bars, concerts and music from shops,” he added.

There are a number of stakeholders who have already announced their concerts, including one of the best music labels in the country, Swangz Avenue.
