Ugandans have expressed mixed reactions after police launched a manhunt for the self-proclaimed tycoon, Charles Olim alias Sipapa over alleged involvement in a robbery in Kampala in which over Shs1.6 billion was stolen.

According to Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, Jacob Arok, a South Sudan national and resident of Bunga in Kampala was robbed on the night of August 28, 2022, when unknown men broke into his home after applying suspected chloroform to the occupants.

Enanga revealed that when the South Sudan national reported the matter to the police, detectives tracked one of the phones stolen, and following this lead, the signal led them to Sipapa’s home in Buwaate, in Wakiso district.

I think I should join the hunt for Sipapa so that when I apprehend him, he gives me some supper. Otherwise I'm most likely to ignore supper too??? pic.twitter.com/jBWzAez1uF

A #Ugandan by the name of Sipapa stolen 429,000 USD from our very own looter in Kampala. Someone will say there’s no money laundering in #SouthSudan done by the misleaders. Where on earth did he get that money? Their time is up! #SSOT

There is more than what meets this eye with Sipapa's case. You steal over $400,000 and then take phones as well ??
