Uganda’s most decorated female military officer, Lt Gen (rtd) Proscovia Nalweyiso, has claimed that socialite, Sipapa, is a criminal and the aggravated robbery charges slapped on him in court are warranted.

Last week, Sipapa, his wife, Nakiyimba Shamirah, and their co-accused were charged with the aggravated robbery of Shs1.6 billion at the home of a South Sudanese national in Bunga.

The group was remanded to Luzira Upper Prison till September 19 for six offences of aggravated robbery.

Speaking in an interview, the veteran female officer condemned the criminality of Sipapa and called on the police to curb this growing criminality and impunity.

She said that Sipapa is a known thief who, together with his gang have been terrorizing Kampala residents.

“I am one person who has closely followed Sipapa’s criminal acts. I even ordered the withdrawal of his army guards,” said Nalweyiso.

She further explained that Sipapa is one of the well-known thugs that use pictures of top government officials to scare police.

“This time I will work with the police to make sure Sipapa is punished,” she said.
