Emma Wanyonyi, a security guard attached to Harsh Security Company, has been remanded at Luzira Prison for allegedly stealing 24 mobile phones and their accessories from his deployment site.

Wanyonyi, a resident of Naguru Police Barracks in Nakawa Division, is accused, along with others still at large, of breaking into Banana Investment Company shop in Kampala between the night of October 23 and 24, 2023. They allegedly stole 24 mobile phones of various models, along with their cables and chargers, all valued at Shs14 million. Additionally, they made off with hard cash amounting to Shs1.7 million.

Wanyonyi appeared before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Siena Owomugisha and was charged with the offence of theft, which he denied.
