UBA Uganda denies management crisis amid leadership changes

United Bank for Africa Uganda (UBA Uganda) has refuted claims of having a “management crisis,” as alleged by various news sites.

In a statement issued by Hoziana Niyonsaba, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at United Bank for Africa Uganda Limited, she stated that the bank embraces progress and appreciates good performance.

“We confirm that Mrs. Chioma A. Mang, the immediate former Managing Director/CEO of UBA Uganda Limited, has been elevated with greater group responsibility, effective October 1, 2024,” Hoziana said in the statement.

She added, “UBA Uganda, with a strong adherence to corporate governance practices, will announce its new Managing Director/CEO in due course.”

The bank further appreciates Mrs. Chioma A. Mang’s contributions to UBA Uganda during her tenure, which was exemplified by growth, and wishes her continued success in her new role.

“We encourage the media to always verify information through the bank’s official channels to ensure accuracy and avoid the propagation of misinformation. We thank you for your continued trust and confidence in UBA Uganda Limited,” the statement concludes.
